How to I prevent myself from identity theft in this case?
I read the newspaper and saw a commercial hiring for a interpreter. So I talked to the woman, and she said that my role is to interpret for her during her license exam. I checked the internet, and I realized that I as a interpreter has to fill in a form as well.
What I worried about is the form. The form is from the government, so it is valid. but filling out the form means I have to put all my information like social #, name, phone, address.
In this case, How do I protect myself? what if they make a copy of my form? then I am screwed!!! How should I approach this situation?
P.S. I talked to the woman face to face. It does not look like a scam. but she can do whatever she wants you know? e.g. make a copy and sell it? or use it illegally?
If you feel that uncomfortable…do not fill out the form look elsewhere for a job. Better safe than sorry!
